Highly-detailed O Scale Trolley Components

- Trolley Detail Components -

Accent On Quality

Current Line Models detail fittings for trolley cars were designed by a modeler who has seen the real parts and can interpret them in miniature. Each part is cast in white metal in molds made with meticulously-detailed patterns.  The white metal alloy used for the castings is completely lead-free, making the castings entirely safe to handle in your home.

Parts cast in white metal have a smooth finish and yet are tough and long-lasting, not brittle.  They can be soldered together if low heat is used.  Or, glue like epoxy and ACC (super glue) can be used to hold them in place.

Because of the wide variety of streetcars and interurbans, each builder is urged to study pictures of prototype cars of his or her model.  The more that is known about a model the more pleasure it will give.

Some Typical Trolley Car Components

This picture highlights typical components on a steel interurban car from the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad.  Car 715 attained speeds of better than 70 miles per hour between Chicago and Milwaukee from 1926 until abandonment in 1963. [Phil O'Keefe]
